Voice Explorer lets you describe a trip out loud, for example a quiet beach in February or mountains and good food in autumn, and matches what you say to destinations in our atlas. It listens for themes such as coast, mountains, culture, food, design, wildlife and wellness, and for the month you mention.
Speech recognition runs in your browser. If your browser does not support it, type the same sentence into the search box and the matching works the same way.
Say a landscape, a theme and a month in one sentence: a quiet coast with good food in May, snowy mountains and spa time in January, or art and architecture in autumn. The more specific the month, the better the season matching.
If the match is too broad, add one more detail such as wildlife, design hotels or a slower pace. If it returns nothing, remove a detail and try again.
Speech recognition depends on your browser and device. Some browsers ask for microphone permission each time; others do not support it at all. Typing the same sentence into the search box gives the same results, so no feature is lost without a microphone.
It uses the browser's built-in speech recognition, which is available in recent versions of Chrome, Edge and Safari. Other browsers can use the text box instead.
No recording is saved by Peters Signature Travel. The browser turns your speech into text, and only that text is used to filter the atlas.
Short, specific sentences work best, such as 'wildlife and wellness in July' or 'design-led city break in October'.
