Visual Stories

Luxury travel through cinematic visual storytelling. Stunning photography showcasing the world's finest hotels, destinations, and travel experiences.

How to use the visual stories

Each visual story gathers photographs around one kind of luxury travel: private villas, yachts and ocean days, private aviation, iconic resorts, European summers, desert and remote lodges, alpine winters, beach clubs, dining rooms, and the way a place changes from day to night. The aim is to help you recognise what you are drawn to before you choose a destination or hotel.

Photographs show the atmosphere of a category, not a specific room you can book. Where a story points to a destination or hotel guide, use that guide for practical details such as seasons, where to stay and how to get there.

From mood to a real shortlist

Notice which details keep catching your eye: open-air bathrooms, wood-panelled chalets, long tables outdoors, quiet coves. Those details translate into searchable requirements, such as a villa with a private pool, a ski-in hotel or a resort reachable by boat. Take two or three of them to the destination guides and hotel reviews and the list narrows quickly.

Step by step

  1. Open the visual story that matches the trip you are imagining.
  2. Note the settings and details you respond to most.
  3. Follow the linked destination and hotel guides to turn the mood into specific places.

Questions

Are these photographs of hotels you recommend?

No. They illustrate a style of travel. Hotel recommendations live in the hotel reviews, best-hotel lists and comparisons, which explain the reasoning.

Can I book the places shown?

Visual stories are for inspiration. To plan a stay, use a destination guide, then check rates with the hotel or through our Booking.com links.
